Recovery of Investment Losses in Welsh/CNL Properties I LLC
Have you suffered investment losses in Welsh/CNL Properties I? If so, the securities attorneys of The White Law Group may be able to help you recover your losses by filing a FINRA Dispute Resolution claim against the brokerage firm that sold you the investment.
According to a letter to investors dated August 5, 2016, Colliers International began to market the 13 properties owned by Welsh/CNL Properties in January, and in May 2016 entered into an agreement to sell the portfolio for approximately $122.5 million. By the end of June 2016, the buyer terminated the agreement.
Unfortunately for investors, the properties were acquired in June 2006 for an aggregate price of $143.3 million and according to the company they anticipate that any future sale price will be less than $122.5 million and that the range of liquidating distribution will be less than $2,000 per $5,000 investment.
The White Law Group is investigating potential claims against the broker dealers that sold high risk investments, like Welsh/CNL Properties I, onto unsuspecting investors.
Broker dealers are required to perform adequate due diligence on any investment they recommend and to ensure that all recommendations are suitable for the investor. Recommendations should be appropriate in light of the investor’s age, risk tolerance, net worth, and investment experience.
Broker dealers that fail to adequately disclose risks or make unsuitable investment recommendations can be held liable for investment losses in a FINRA arbitration claim.
