According to Memphis Business Journal, Virtus Real Estate Capital takes in investor capital and uses it for commercial real estate, focusing on assets that it believes are recession-proof. Virtus Storage Investment III, started in February 2009, with up to $120 million in property purchases across the Southeast. It purchased self-storage properties with this fund and was completed in February 2011.
According to SEC Filings, Virtus Storage Investment III filed a Form D to raise capital in 2009.
