FINRA Bars New York Advisor William G. Brunner
According to The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the regulator has barred former New York advisor William G. Brunner from the securities industry.
FINRA reportedly requested that Brunner appear for on-the-record testimony, but Brunner declined to appear for testimony.
The request was reportedly sent in connection with an investigation into, among other things, alleged possible excessive trading and use of discretion without written authorization in customer’s accounts while Brunner was associated with Investment Planners, Inc. in Huntington, New York.
According to Brunner’s FINRA BrokerCheck report, Brunner was registered with Investment Planners from February 2015 until May 2017. Prior to that, he worked for First Midwest Securities in Huntington, NY from May 2009 until March 2015. Brunner has 8 disclosure events listed on his broker report including 5 customer complaints. Allegations include churning, unauthorized trades and negligence, among others.
