Garrett Andrew Ahrens Under Investigation

LPL Financial has parted ways with Garrett Andrew Ahrens and his firm Ahrens Investment Partners. Ahrens received notice of an investigation by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) for alleged misuse of consolidated reports.

According to Investment News, Ahrens was a top ranked advisor for LPL Financial. Reports indicated he had assets under management of $755 million.

FINRA is investigating whether the consolidated reports presented to customers contained statements that were false, exaggerated, unwarranted or misleading. Ahrens has denied these allegations.

Ahrens’ FINRA BrokerCheck report reveals ten disclosure events, including eight customer complaints. He was a registered representative of LPL from 06/1998 – 08/2015. Currently, Ahrens is not registered as a broker with any firm.

Ahrens Investment Partners operates as an investment adviser firm and is registered with the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC).

Earlier this year, LPL Financial was fined $11.7 million for failure to monitor the creation and use of consolidated reports and other alleged supervisory failures, according to Investment News.
