Mark Hopkins | Broker Investigation

Mark Hopkins Broker Investigation, Featured by Top Securities Fraud Attorneys, The White Law Group

Mark Hopkins, American Portfolio Financial Services, Grand Blanc, MI

According to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), the regulator has reportedly barred Mark Hopkins, a former financial advisor in Grand Blanc, MI, from associating with any FINRA member at any time.

Without admitting or denying the findings, Hopkins reportedly consented to the sanction and to the entry of findings that he refused to produce documents and information requested by FINRA in connection with its investigation relating to the issues disclosed in his Form U5.

According to Hopkins’ FINRA BrokerCheck report he was registered with American Portfolio Financial Services in Grand Blanc, MI from July 2009 until December 2018 when he was permitted to resign because he allegedly “accepted customer funds for an investment not on the books of the Broker Dealer without obtaining pre-approval. Funds were returned to customer. Failure to update OBAs. Failure to report judgment.”

Hopkins and his assistantKimberly Sredich worked together at WorkLife Wealth Management in Grand Blanc, Michigan. As we told you in April, Sredich was recently charged with allegedly stealing money from elderly brokerage customers.

According to a customer complaint on March 25, 2019, Hopkins allegedly solicited funds for an investment away from the broker-dealer at a credit union and “presented a copy of an altered bank check as evidence of his ability to repay.” The damage amount requested is $400,000.
