According to an article in the Charlotte Observer yesterday, former financial advisor Sampson Pearson Jr. was indicted on July 18 for charges of wire fraud scheme, aggravated identity theft and filing false tax returns. He has reportedly been accused of stealing half a million dollars from clients and Northwestern Mutual, according to the article.

Pearson, who sold life insurance products and annuities, allegedly submitted fake loan applications and annuity distribution requests to Northwestern Mutual.

According to the article, the fraud was allegedly committed between 2005 and 2016 and his clients were purportedly not aware that he had requested the loans and disbursements.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) reportedly barred Pearson from working in the securities industry in June 2017.  Pearson was reportedly registered with Northwestern Mutual Investment Services in Charlotte, from March 2001 until March 2017.
