According to an article in KTBS Shreveport news, Eddie Lyons (James Edward Lyons) was reportedly barred from the financial industry after he was accused of “costing clients more than $5 million in risky investments that went against their wishes to invest conservatively.”

Lyons, a champion amateur golfer, was reportedly well known in the Shreveport community and worked in the securities industry for more than 30 years, according to reports.

The group of Shreveport investors who reportedly filed suit against Lyons include attorneys, a doctor, a college professor, business people, retirees, a church and a social service agency, according to the article, and many of the individuals are in their 70s and 80s.

The portfolios reportedly lost millions from unsuitable investments and were also affected by high commissions and fees, according to the article.

According to his FINRA BrokerCheck report, Lyons was reportedly affiliated with Raymond James in Shreveport, LA from February 2013 until May 2017 when he was allegedly fired due to “customer allegation of unauthorized trading.”

Prior to that, he was registered with Morgan Keegan for twenty years. He currently has 8 customer complaints listed on his broker report, one of which is still pending.
