Michael D. Kennedy

Michael D. Kennedy is a senior associate with The White Law Group where he practices in the area of securities arbitration.  Mr. Kennedy is based out of the firm’s Chicago office.  He is a member of the Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations, as well as a member of the Public Investors Arbitration Bar Association (PIABA), an association of securities attorneys who dedicate their practices to the representation of investors defrauded by their financial professional or brokerage firm.

Mr. Kennedy has handled more than 250 FINRA arbitration cases.  These cases have included claims, among others, relating to unsuitable investment recommendations, negligence, fraud, failure to supervise, breach of fiduciary duty and failure to perform adequate due diligence before recommending an investment product to the investing public.

Before beginning his legal career, Mr. Kennedy was a teacher and takes pride in helping his clients to understand their legal rights and the litigation process.  While his practice is dedicated primarily to securities cases on behalf of defrauded investors, he has experience in commercial litigation, personal injury law, landlord-tenant disputes, and collections cases.  Mr. Kennedy graduated from DePaul University College of Law, where he also received his Certificate in Business Law and was a member of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration moot arbitration team where he worked on complex international commercial disputes.    When not working, Mr. Kennedy spends his time with his wife and daughter and is an avid sports fan, following Chicago’s professional teams and his alma mater, the University of South Carolina.
