Investor Alert: TP Flexible Income Fund, Inc.
Are you concerned about your investment in the TP Flexible Income Fund, Inc. at the advice of your financial advisor? If so, the securities attorneys at The White Law Group may be able to help you by filing a FINRA Dispute Resolution claim against the broker dealer who sold you the investment.
TP Flexible Income Fund Inc, a non-traded traded business development company, was reportedly created by the merger between Pathway Capital Opportunity Fund and Triton Pacific Investment Corporation, according to a press announcement.
On May 14, 2020, TP Flexible Income Fund, formerly known as Triton Pacific Investment Corp., reported that it reduced its public offering price per share 22% from $11.38 per share to $8.78 per share. The BDC reported $1.09 per share in unrealized losses on portfolio investments due to uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, according to filings with the SEC.
The White Law Group continues to investigate potential claims involving broker dealers who may have unsuitably recommended high risk business development companies (BDCs) to unsuspecting investors. The high commission structure of these products leads to the possibility that unscrupulous financial advisors will push these products unsuitably to maximize their own commissions.
Brokerage firms are required to perform adequate due diligence on any investment they recommend and to ensure that all recommendations are suitable for the investor in light of that particular investor’s age, investment experience, net worth, risk tolerance, investment objectives, and income.
Firms that fail to perform adequate due diligence or that make unsuitable recommendations can be held responsible for investment losses in a FINRA arbitration claim.
