Have you suffered losses investing in Vanguard Natural Resources (VNR)? If so, The White Law Group may be able to recover your losses by filing a claim against the brokerage firm that sold you the investment.
The White Law Group continues to monitor VNR and is investigating whether some brokerage firms may have improperly recommended high-risk MLPs like VNR to clients. Unfortunately, many investors were not made adequately aware of the risks associated with energy investments like VNR.
VNR’s third quarter results have been released this week, and despite progress with slashing debt, the company’s liquidity is still in the danger zone. According to reports, VNR’s lenders reduced their credit by 17%, leaving VNR with a $225 million shortfall. Even though the cash is not due at once (six equal payments of $37.5 Million) the company has concerns on covering the shortfall, due to current commodity prices. There are a few options: refinancing or restructuring its debt, selling assets, reducing its drilling program, or raising outside funding from non-traditional sources.

Before recommending an investment, your broker has a fiduciary duty to adequately disclose the risks involved in the investment and to perform the necessary due diligence to determine whether the investment is suitable for the investor. To the extent that some brokerage firm failed to perform adequate due diligence or make unsuitable investment recommendations, the firm may be held liable for any resulting losses in a FINRA arbitration claim.
